A lingual bonded retainer is bonded (or glued) to the lingual (tongue side) of the teeth. A thin lingual retention wire is affixed to the first 6 (anterior) teeth of both the upper and lower arches. These are the teeth most likely to shift to their original position after treatment. We offer hygienic lingual retainers to simplify flossing and help you maintain a clean, healthy smile.
The total cost also includes a scan conducted after your treatment. Once we receive these scans, your bonded retainers will be created and sent directly to the clinic, ensuring they arrive unbent before bonding. This process usually takes about 5-10 business days, and you'll need to continue wearing your aligners until the retainers are bonded.

Can I get both bonded retainers and thermoplastic retainers?
The answer is yes. But you will need to have an additional scan AFTER your retainers are bonded. This can be done at your bonding appointment. The extra cost for thermoplastic retainers following the bonded retainers is $230, which covers the scan and your new set of retainers.
Should I have my teeth cleaned prior to bonding?
We strongly recommend that you do. After Clear Aligner treatment, there may be some plaque buildup. Having a cleaning done during your initial scanning appointment will ensure our team can bond the retainers properly.
